PhotoBoost

AI photo enhancement

How PhotoBoost Works

What does PhotoBoost do?#

PhotoBoost is an AI app that does much more than sharpen your pictures. It enhances and unblurs photos to bring out clearer, crisper detail — and it also generates AI images and videos, including AI avatars and short videos made from your own photos. Whether you want to rescue an old, blurry shot or create something brand new, PhotoBoost helps you turn your photos into better versions and fun new creations.

How do I enhance a photo?#

It only takes a few steps:

  1. Open PhotoBoost and choose to enhance a new photo.
  2. Pick a photo from your library (or take a new one).
  3. Let the app process it — this happens automatically.
  4. Preview the enhanced result, then save it to your device or share it.

Your original photo stays untouched in your library — PhotoBoost saves the enhanced version as a separate image, so you always keep the original.

What are Boosts?#

Boosts are the in-app currency you spend to use PhotoBoost's AI features — like enhancing photos, generating avatars, and creating videos.

There are two ways to get them:

  • A subscription that refreshes your Boosts each billing cycle while your plan is active.
  • One-time Boost packs you buy as needed.

The exact amounts and what's included are shown on the purchase screen in the app before you buy. All purchases are handled by the App Store or Google Play. For the difference between Boosts and a subscription, see the Subscriptions & Boosts section.

How do I generate an avatar or video?#

It's a similar flow to enhancing a photo:

  1. Open PhotoBoost and choose the avatar or video generation feature.
  2. Upload the photos or selfies it asks for.
  3. Pick a style you like.
  4. Let the AI create your result.

Generating avatars and videos uses Boosts, and it can take a little time to process. If you don't see this feature yet, update PhotoBoost to the latest version.

How long does processing take?#

Most photos finish in a short time — usually a matter of seconds. A few things can make it take a little longer:

  • A slow or unstable internet connection
  • A very large or high-resolution photo
  • Heavy demand at busy times

If a photo seems stuck, make sure you have a stable connection and try again. If it keeps failing, see the Troubleshooting section for more steps.

How do I get the best results?#

The enhanced result depends a lot on the photo you start with. For the best outcome:

  • Start with the highest-resolution version you have. Bigger, clearer originals give the AI more to work with.
  • Pick photos with decent lighting. Very dark or heavily backlit shots are harder to improve.
  • Avoid extreme blur. Light softness enhances well; a photo that's almost unrecognizable has less to recover.
  • Use the original file rather than a screenshot or a heavily compressed copy when you can.

If a result isn't what you hoped for, you can try enhancing again — see Results & Quality for more tips.

Your Photos & Privacy

Are my photos stored, and when are they deleted?#

We take this seriously. Here's what happens to a photo you enhance:

  • Your photo is uploaded and processed only to create the enhanced result you asked for.
  • After processing, it is deleted from our servers after a short retention period.
  • We do not sell your photos, and we do not use them to identify you.

We don't publish an exact day-count here because the specifics are set out — and kept up to date — in our Privacy Policy. If you'd like your data removed sooner, see How do I request deletion of my data or account? below.

Are my photos or face used to train your AI or to identify me?#

No. Any face or image data is used only to enhance the specific photo you asked us to enhance — nothing more.

To be clear:

  • We do not use your photos to identify you or build a profile of you.
  • We do not sell your photos or face data.
  • Face information is used purely to improve the image you submitted, and then the photo is removed from our servers after a short retention period.

For the full details on how we handle data, please see our Privacy Policy.

Who can see my photos? Are my results private?#

Your photos and your enhanced results are yours. They aren't posted publicly, shared with other users, or shown in any gallery by PhotoBoost.

Photos are uploaded only so our system can process them into the enhanced result, and they're deleted from our servers after a short retention period. We don't sell them or use them to identify you.

The enhanced image you save stays on your device, where you decide whether to keep it, delete it, or share it. For specifics on how data is handled, see the Privacy Policy.

How do I request deletion of my data or account?#

You can ask us to delete your data at any time, and we honor requests under privacy laws like GDPR and CCPA.

To make a request:

  • Email us at [email protected] from the email you'd like us to look up, and let us know you want your data deleted.
  • We'll process your request and confirm when it's done.

Uploaded photos are already deleted from our servers after a short retention period as part of normal processing. For the full picture of what we store and your rights, see the Privacy Policy.

Results & Quality

The result looks blurry, unnatural, or worse — what can I do?#

Sorry that one didn't land. Because PhotoBoost works from your original photo, the result depends a lot on the input — and a few quick changes often help:

  • Start with a higher-resolution original. Screenshots and heavily compressed copies have less detail to recover.
  • Choose a better-lit photo. Very dark or backlit shots are harder to enhance cleanly.
  • Try enhancing again — and if there's an option to choose a different photo or version, compare a couple of inputs.
  • Avoid extremely blurry sources. Light softness enhances well; severe blur has little detail to rebuild.

Enhancement is AI-based and results can be subjective, so different photos respond differently. If something looks technically broken (not just not to your taste), update PhotoBoost to the latest version and try enhancing again with the original, full-size file — see the Troubleshooting section for more steps.

My photo failed to process — what now?#

A failed enhancement is usually temporary. Try these in order:

  1. Check your internet connection — photos are processed online, so a stable connection matters.
  2. Try again — busy periods or a brief hiccup can cause a one-off failure.
  3. Use a smaller or standard-format photo if the file is very large or unusual.
  4. Restart the app and re-import the photo.

A failed enhancement is usually a temporary glitch, so work through the steps above and try again. See Troubleshooting for more steps if it keeps happening.

Can I re-enhance a photo or undo a result?#

Yes — your original photo is never changed. PhotoBoost saves the enhanced image as a separate file, so your original stays safe in your library.

That means you can:

  • Re-enhance the original photo and compare results.
  • Delete the enhanced version from your device if you don't want to keep it — your original remains.

Keep in mind that re-enhancing a photo generally uses boosts, just like a first enhancement. There's no in-app "undo" needed since the original is always preserved.

What photo formats and sizes are supported?#

PhotoBoost works with common photo formats from your device's library, such as JPEG and PNG (the standard formats most phone photos use).

A few tips:

  • Higher-resolution originals generally give better results, so use the full-size photo when you can.
  • Very large files may take longer to upload and process, especially on a slow connection.
  • If a particular image won't load or enhance, try a standard JPEG or PNG copy of it.

If a photo you'd expect to work keeps failing, re-save it as a standard JPEG or PNG and enhance that copy — see Troubleshooting for more steps.

Subscriptions & Boosts

How do I cancel my subscription?#

Your subscription is billed and managed by the App Store or Google Play, so you cancel it there — not inside PhotoBoost.

On iPhone or iPad
  1. Open Settings and tap your name, or go directly to your subscriptions.
  2. Find PhotoBoost in the list.
  3. Tap it and choose Cancel Subscription.
On Android
  1. Open the Google Play Store app, or go to your subscriptions.
  2. Find PhotoBoost.
  3. Tap Cancel subscription and follow the prompts.

Canceling stops future renewals. You'll keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for.

What does the subscription include?#

A subscription gives you ongoing access to PhotoBoost's enhancement features, typically with a recurring boost allowance that refreshes on each billing cycle.

The exact plan details — price, billing period, and how many boosts are included — are shown on the purchase screen in the app before you confirm, and in your store account. Because plans can differ by region and over time, always check that screen for what your specific plan includes.

The subscription renews automatically until you cancel it in the App Store or Google Play.

What's the difference between Boosts and a subscription?#

Both let you use app features without ads such as enhancing photos, generating avatars, and creating videos — the difference is how you pay and how you get Boosts:

  • Subscription — a recurring plan. You're billed on a regular cycle and your boost allowance refreshes each period. It renews automatically until you cancel.
  • Boost pack — a one-time purchase. You buy a set amount of boosts and use them whenever you like; there's no recurring charge for a one-time pack.

In short: a subscription is the "keep me topped up automatically" option, and boost packs are the "buy what I need, when I need it" option. The amounts and prices for each are shown on the purchase screen before you buy.

I was charged after my free trial — why?#

Free trials convert into a paid subscription automatically when the trial ends, unless you cancel before the trial period is over. This is standard for App Store and Google Play trials, and the charge comes from them.

To avoid a renewal next time, cancel before the trial ends:

If you believe you were charged in error (for example, charged after you'd already canceled), see the Refunds section, which covers how we handle genuine billing errors.

How do I restore my purchases?#

If you reinstalled the app, got a new device, or your subscription isn't showing, use Restore Purchases:

  1. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID or Google account you used to buy.
  2. In PhotoBoost, open the upgrade or settings screen and tap Restore Purchases.
  3. Wait a moment for your subscription or boosts to reappear.

If it still doesn't show up after restoring, confirm you're signed in with the same Apple ID or Google account you purchased with, check that you have a stable internet connection, then fully close and reopen the app and tap Restore Purchases once more.

Refunds

What is your refund policy?#

PhotoBoost purchases — subscriptions and boosts — are processed by the App Store and Google Play, which means we can't issue refunds directly. Refunds are controlled by Apple and Google under their own policies.

As a rule, we don't offer refunds for buyer's remorse (for example, changing your mind or not liking a result), since enhancement quality is subjective and depends on the input photo. But if you hit a genuine billing error — a double charge, a charge after canceling, or boosts you paid for but never received — email us at [email protected] and we'll help.

I didn't like the enhanced result — can I get a refund?#

We understand the disappointment, and we're happy to help you get a better result — though we generally can't offer a refund in this case.

Enhancement is AI-based, and the outcome depends a lot on the original photo, so quality can be subjective and varies from image to image. Before asking for a refund, it's worth trying a few things:

  • Re-enhance using a higher-resolution, better-lit original.
  • Read the tips in the Results & Quality section.

Your original photo is never changed, so you can experiment freely. If you think something is technically broken rather than just not to your taste, update PhotoBoost to the latest version and try enhancing again with the original, full-size file — see the Results & Quality and Troubleshooting sections for more steps.

I was charged after a free trial I forgot to cancel — can I get that back?#

This is a common one. When a free trial ends, it automatically becomes a paid subscription unless it's canceled beforehand — and the charge is handled by Apple or Google, not us.

Two steps:

  1. Cancel now so it doesn't renew again — iOS or Android.
  2. Request a refund through the store, since they control billing:

Whether a refund is granted is up to Apple or Google. If you think there's a billing error on our side — such as a double charge or a charge after canceling — see What is your refund policy? above for how we handle genuine billing errors.

I paid for Boosts but didn't receive them — what do I do?#

That shouldn't happen, and we'll make it right. First, try a quick fix:

  1. Tap Restore Purchases in the app (make sure you're signed in with the account you paid with).
  2. Close and reopen the app so your balance can refresh.

If your boosts still don't appear, email us at [email protected] with:

  • The store you bought from (App Store or Google Play)
  • The date and amount of the purchase
  • Your order or receipt number if you have it

Paid-for boosts that were never delivered are a genuine billing issue, and we'll get them to you or help resolve it.

I bought something by accident — what can I do?#

Accidental purchases are handled through the store that processed the payment, since we can't issue refunds directly.

To prevent future accidental purchases, consider enabling purchase confirmation or restrictions in your device settings. If the charge looks like a genuine billing error on our end, see What is your refund policy? above for how we handle those.

Account & Data

How do I request that my data be deleted (GDPR / CCPA)?#

We honor data-deletion requests under privacy laws including GDPR and CCPA.

To make a request, follow the steps in Your Photos & Privacy → How do I request deletion of my data or account?. We'll handle it and confirm when it's done.

Note that uploaded photos are already deleted from our servers after a short retention period as part of normal processing — they aren't kept long-term. For the full details of what we store and your rights, see our Privacy Policy.

How do I manage what's stored about me?#

Here's how your data works in PhotoBoost, and what's in your control:

  • Photos you enhance are processed to create your result and then deleted from our servers after a short retention period. We don't sell them or use them to identify you.
  • Enhanced images you save live on your device, where you can keep or delete them anytime.
  • Purchases are managed through your App Store or Google Play account.

If you'd like us to delete the data associated with you, see How do I request that my data be deleted (GDPR / CCPA)? above. For the complete details of what we hold, see the Privacy Policy.

Troubleshooting

Upload or processing keeps failing — how do I fix it?#

Most upload and processing problems come down to the connection or the photo. Try these in order:

  1. Check your internet — photos are processed online, so a stable Wi-Fi or mobile connection is needed.
  2. Try a different network — switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data to rule out a flaky connection.
  3. Use a standard photo — a very large file or unusual format can fail; try a normal JPEG or PNG.
  4. Restart the app, then re-import the photo.
  5. Update PhotoBoost to the latest version from the App Store or Google Play.

If a boost was used on an enhancement that failed to deliver a result, wait until your connection is stable and try the enhancement again.

The app keeps crashing — what should I do?#

Let's get it stable again. Work through these steps:

  1. Fully close and reopen the app.
  2. Update to the latest version in the App Store or Google Play — fixes ship regularly.
  3. Restart your device to clear up memory.
  4. Free up storage if your device is very low on space.
  5. Reinstall PhotoBoost as a last resort. Your purchases aren't lost — just tap Restore Purchases afterward.

If it still crashes after all of these, make sure your device's operating system is up to date as well, since an outdated OS can cause crashes the app can't fix on its own.

I purchased but the app doesn't recognize it — how do I fix it?#

This is almost always solved by restoring your purchase:

  1. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID or Google account you bought with.
  2. In PhotoBoost, open the upgrade or settings screen and tap Restore Purchases.
  3. Close and reopen the app so your subscription or boosts can refresh.

If your purchase still isn't recognized, confirm you're signed in with the same account you bought with, check that you have a stable internet connection, and update PhotoBoost to the latest version before trying Restore Purchases again. If you paid but never received the boosts, see Refunds → I paid for Boosts but didn't receive them.

My enhanced photo didn't save to my device — what now?#

Usually this is a permissions or storage issue. Check the following:

  • Photo permissions — make sure PhotoBoost is allowed to save to your photo library in your device settings.
  • Storage space — free up room if your device is nearly full.
  • Try saving again from the result screen, then look in your library (and any "Recents" album).

Remember, your original photo is always kept — the enhanced image saves as a separate file. If saving still doesn't work after checking permissions and storage, restart your device and try saving once more, and make sure PhotoBoost is updated to the latest version.
