ViewCaller

Know who's calling

How ViewCaller Works

What does ViewCaller do?#

ViewCaller is a caller-ID and spam-blocking app. When your phone rings, it tries to show you who is calling, even if the number isn't saved in your contacts. It also warns you about numbers that are likely spam, scams, or robocalls so you can decide whether to answer.

The goal is simple: help you avoid unwanted calls and recognize the ones that matter. You stay in control of which calls you pick up, block, or ignore.

We take privacy seriously. If you ever want to remove your own number from our directory, you can — request removal at https://acr2.y0.com/remove-number.

How does ViewCaller identify an unknown caller?#

When a call comes in from a number you don't have saved, ViewCaller checks that number against its caller-ID directory and shows the name or label associated with it, when one is available.

That directory is built from several sources, including business and public listings and names that the community of users has associated with numbers over time. Because of this, ViewCaller can often identify a caller that your own phone cannot.

On iPhone, live caller identification requires iOS 18 or later.

No system is perfect, so a name may sometimes be missing or not match exactly. If the information shown for your number is wrong, you can ask us to correct or remove it — write to [email protected].

How are spam and scam numbers detected?#

ViewCaller flags numbers that show patterns linked to unwanted calls. Signals can include large volumes of calls in a short time, reports from other users who marked a number as spam, and known scam or robocall behavior.

When a number looks risky, you'll see a spam or scam warning on the incoming call screen, so you can avoid it or let it go to voicemail.

Community reports help keep these warnings accurate. If a legitimate number was flagged by mistake, the owner can report it in the app to have it reviewed.

Why does a caller's name show up differently than I expect?#

The name ViewCaller shows comes from our caller-ID directory, not from your personal contacts. So a caller may appear under a business name, a previous owner of the number, or a label that other people have associated with that number.

Phone numbers also change hands over time. A number that once belonged to one person or business may now belong to someone else, and the directory may not have caught up yet.

If you see your own number labeled incorrectly, you can request a correction or removal — write to [email protected].

Your Privacy & Your Number

How do I remove or unlist my phone number?#

Using ViewCaller

How do I block a number or a spam caller?#

Block directly from the open number, or from the Block settings tab, where you can block by number or other criteria. You can also report a number to alert others.

How do I set ViewCaller as my default caller ID?#

The setup differs by platform, because iOS and Android handle caller ID differently:

  • iPhone (iOS): Caller ID works through a system feature for call identification and blocking. You'll enable ViewCaller in your phone's settings under the call blocking and identification section.
  • Android: You can set ViewCaller as your default caller-ID and spam app, or grant it the caller-ID role, in your phone's settings.

ViewCaller will guide you through the right steps for your device during setup. If the option isn't appearing, see Troubleshooting.

How do I look up an unknown number?#

ViewCaller lets you search a phone number to see the name or label associated with it, when one is available. Enter the number you want to check, and the app will show what it can find in the caller-ID directory.

Results depend on what's in the directory, so some numbers will return a clear identity and others may show little or nothing.

If a lookup shows incorrect information about your own number, write to [email protected].

Subscriptions & Billing

How do I cancel my subscription?#

ViewCaller subscriptions are billed through the app store, so you cancel in the store where you subscribed — not inside the app.

Once cancelled, your subscription stays active until the end of the current billing period, and it won't renew after that. To avoid being charged for the next period, cancel at least 24 hours before it renews.

What does ViewCaller Premium include?#

ViewCaller Premium unlocks the app's paid features. Depending on your plan and platform, Premium may include:

  • An ad-free experience
  • Advanced spam and scam tools for stronger protection
  • Call recording

Number lookups are available on both the free and Premium versions. Exact features can vary over time and by region, so check the offer shown in the app for what's included with your specific plan.

Will I be charged after my free trial?#

If your plan includes a free trial, it automatically converts to a paid subscription when the trial ends, unless you cancel before then. This is standard for App Store and Google Play subscriptions.

To avoid a charge, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends:

Cancelling during the trial still lets you use Premium until the trial period is over.

How do I restore my purchases?#

If you reinstalled the app or switched devices, you can restore an active subscription using the Restore Purchases option in ViewCaller's settings.

Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID or Google account you used when you originally subscribed — purchases are tied to that store account.

If your subscription still doesn't appear after restoring, confirm your device is online, that you're signed in with the correct store account, and that the app is updated to the latest version, then try Restore Purchases again.

Refunds

What is ViewCaller's refund policy?#

ViewCaller subscriptions are purchased and billed through the App Store or Google Play, so refunds are handled by Apple and Google — we aren't able to issue refunds for store purchases directly.

As a default, we don't offer refunds for change-of-mind or buyer's remorse once a subscription has started. You can still cancel anytime to stop future charges (see Subscriptions & Billing).

If you believe you were charged because of a genuine billing error, such as a duplicate charge, see I was charged twice below.

You can also request a refund directly from the store:

I was charged after a free trial I forgot to cancel#

This happens because a free trial automatically converts to a paid subscription if it isn't cancelled before it ends. The charge is processed by the store, not by us.

You can request a refund directly from the store, which decides these cases:

To prevent future charges, cancel the subscription so it won't renew. The store decides refund requests, so submitting yours through the links above is the fastest way to have it reviewed.

I bought a subscription by accident#

We understand accidental purchases happen. Because the payment is processed by Apple or Google, the refund decision is theirs, so the fastest path is to request it from the store:

Be sure to also cancel the subscription so it doesn't renew. The refund decision rests with the store, so submitting your request through the links above is the most direct way to resolve it.

I was charged twice#

A duplicate charge is worth checking carefully. First, confirm whether both charges are really for ViewCaller, since trial conversions, plan changes, or a separate store account can sometimes look like double billing.

Review your purchases in your store account:

If it really is a duplicate charge, that's a billing error — email [email protected] with the details and we'll help look into it. You can also request a refund from the store at reportaproblem.apple.com or via the Google Play refund page.

Account & Data

How do I delete or deactivate my account?#

When you're signed in, you can delete your account from the app's settings; this removes your email data from our database.

How do I request deletion of my data (GDPR / CCPA)?#

You can request deletion of your personal data at any time, including under privacy laws such as GDPR and CCPA.

When you're signed in, you can delete your account and its associated email data from the app's settings. To remove your phone number from our directory, submit a request at https://acr2.y0.com/remove-number.

For full details on your rights and how we handle personal data, see our Privacy Policy.

How do I correct wrong information shown for my number?#

If ViewCaller shows the wrong name or label for your number, you can report it directly in the app so it can be reviewed and improved.

If you'd rather your number not appear at all, request full removal at https://acr2.y0.com/remove-number.

Troubleshooting

Caller ID isn't showing names#

If incoming calls aren't showing caller names, the most common cause is that ViewCaller isn't fully enabled as a caller-ID app, or a needed permission is off.

Try these steps:

  • Confirm ViewCaller is enabled for call identification in your phone's settings (see set as default caller ID in Using ViewCaller).
  • Make sure the phone/call permission is granted.
  • Check that you have an internet connection, since lookups need one.
  • Restart the app, or restart your phone, after changing settings.

Also remember that not every number has a name in the directory, so some unknown callers may still appear without one. If it still isn't working, restart your phone once more after confirming the settings above are in place.

The name shown for a call is wrong#

Names come from ViewCaller's caller-ID directory, not your personal contacts, so a number may show a business name, a previous owner, or a label others have associated with it. Numbers also change hands over time, which can make older information out of date.

If the caller's information is wrong, reporting it in the app helps improve accuracy for everyone.

If it's your own number that's labeled incorrectly, you can request a correction or removal — write to [email protected].

Setup or permissions aren't working#

If setup won't complete or a permission won't stick, work through these checks:

  • Open your phone's settings and confirm ViewCaller has the phone/call permission, and contacts if you want improved identification.
  • On Android, confirm ViewCaller is selected as the caller-ID and spam app; on iOS, confirm it's enabled under call blocking and identification.
  • Make sure the app is updated to the latest version.
  • Restart your phone after changing permissions so the system applies them.

If setup still fails after these steps, fully close and reopen the app, then walk through the in-app setup once more so the system can reapply each permission.

I'm not getting spam warnings or notifications#

If spam and scam warnings aren't appearing, check that ViewCaller is enabled for call identification and that its notifications are turned on in your phone's settings.

A few more things to verify:

  • The phone/call permission is granted so ViewCaller can see incoming calls.
  • You have an active internet connection.
  • The app is updated to the latest version.
  • Do Not Disturb or a battery-saver mode isn't suppressing notifications.

If warnings still don't show after checking these, restart your phone so the notification and identification settings take effect.
